Ludacris is known for hits such as ‘My Chick Bad’ and ‘How Low,’ but his work to help others hasn’t been overlooked. The Atlanta native was recently awarded the Humanitarian Award from the non-profit Developing Options, which aims to transform poverty-stricken urban communities for the better, for his work in the Los Angeles community.
Ludacris received the award this past weekend during a star-studded three-day event in Los Angeles. Football legend Jim Brown lead a free youth sports clinic and while Ludacris performanced at L.A.’s Club Nokia for the Developing Options Diabetes Awareness & Healthy Living Celebrity Benefit Concert. “We just raised ALOT of $ for Diabetes tonight,” tweeted the rapper. “Thank everyone who came out tonight at Nokia Live in L.A. to support a very worthy cause.”
